The production line of
Hunger Maschinen GmbH ranges from single items such as rotary distributors
and actuators, pressure transducers and valves to hydraulic power packs.
The production program is further complemented by a range of spherical plain
bearings and rod eyes in standard and maintenance free designs for hydraulic

Hydraulic Power Packs and Complete Hydraulic Systems
As manufacturer of hydraulic power units the Hunger
Maschinen GmbH supplies complete system solutions for all cases of
application in the hydraulic field.
The range of products offered covers pressures from 50 to 400 bar and a flow
rate of up to 5000 l.
The plants can be set up to use all the usual media employed in hydraulics.
These hydraulic plants have proven their worth especially in civil
engineering as well as in the iron, steel and aluminum industry.
We design and manufacture hydraulic systems according to customer's
specification of any size and for the most various fileds of application!

Hydraulic Plants for Steel Construction in Hydraulic
Engineering
From 2005 through 2006 Hunger Maschinen GmbH (through
company Hans Künz, Austria) furnished one of the largest European
hydroelectric power plant projects by providing 7 hydraulic power packs for
7 power plant dams consisting of 3 sector gates with flap gate and 4 without
flap gate.
Aditionally, 14 control blocks for the sector cylinders as well as 6 control
blocks for the clamshell cylinders were provided by our sister company
Walter Hunger GmbH Co. KG.
The 100 year old river power station was replaced with a more modern and
efficient equipment.
The new construction enabled the average annual capacity to be tripled to
600 GWh.

Hydraulic Plants for Open Pit Mining
In 2007, Hunger Maschinen GmbH supplied ThyssenKrupp
Fördertechnik with power units for a fully automatic coal crusher located in
Yimin He (Inner Mongolia, China).
A hydraulic drive station with a drive capacity of P = 2 x 250 kW and a
total output capacity of Q = 1050 l/min powered a crusher conveyor drive, 1
hydraulic power pack for the crusher discharge boom, 4 hydraulic power packs
for the conveyor plant, 1 hydraulic power pack for the double roll crusher,
as well as 4 control blocks for the transport crawler.
Under the most demanding climatic conditions, the plant mines approximately
3000 t coal per hour in China's northernmost open pit mine.
As a result of the double roll crushers, the plant is ideally suited to
crush loose rock and bedrock that can withstand pressures of up to 180 MPa.
In addition to coal, other minerals such as: rocks and soils, natural
stones, slags and cement clinker can be mined with this crusher.

Hydraulic Power Units for Industrial Furnace and
Aluminium Casting Plants
For more than two decades Hunger Maschinen GmbH has been
renowned as a supplier for hydraulic systems to the aluminium sector.
Our hydraulic power packs serve as drives for vertical casting plants with
tilting frames, for casting and melting furnace technology, aluminium pusher
furnaces, charging machines and other casting plants which are employed
world-wide in the metal working industry.
We engineer, design and manufacture custom-made solutions for up to 120 t
casting weight.

Rotary Distributors in Standard and Custom-made Designs
Another important component in our product range are
hydraulic rotary distributors for use with different liquid and gaseous
media.
Components can be designed and produced with up to 44 channels and for
operating pressures up to 400 bar on customer's specification.
The rotary distributors are equipped with special seals of Hunger DFE GmbH
for hydraulic oil, grease, gas, water and other operating media.

One- or Multi-port Rotary Distributors
The rotary distributors for company Rekofa are mainly
used in automobile cranes, vehicle platforms,
fire fighting vehicles, agitating machines,
step positioners, revolving tables and special machines in connection with
slip ring bodies.

Standard Rotary Distributors 2 and 4 Channels
Operating data:
- max. pressure: 350 bar
- max. periphery speed: 1,5 m/s
Two separately arranged roller bearings provide precise guidance to the
rotor.
This four-port distributor is used where several with different media,
pressures or flows impinged lines shall be connected to a turning machine
part.

Special Rotary Distributor 24 Channels
The rotary distributors for company Krauss-Maffei are
used in injection moulding machines to produce
so-calles multi-colour/multi-component moulds. These moulds consist of
different colours or materials and are manufactured in one operation
process.
To achieve this in one operation process, one half of the tool has to be
cycled at 120°/180° or 360°.
That means a second material is sprayed onto the first or a third onto the
second with each cycle.
Although the tool cycles forward or backward or turns over 360°, the mould
nests have to be continuously supplied with cooling water.
Pneumatically and/or hydraulically operated movements and processes have to
be carried out on the tool. In order to supply such energies to the turning
tool rotary distributors are an imperative need.

Hunger’s maintenance-free plain bushings WGB and GB are constructed according to
DIN 18550 (DIN ISO 4379) specifications.
Instead of the sintered metals, non-ferrous metals, artificial carbon and duroplastic materials mentioned therein, the bushings are made of closed steel rings with PTFE based bearing layers.
Hunger plain bushings are designed for radial and axial movements and distinguish themselves by a particularly low friction coefficient without stick-slip effect.
Thanks to the strong bearing layer very long service lives can be achieved.

The range of products manufactured by Hunger Maschinen
GmbH also include special valves for hydraulic cylinders in plate or insert
design to safeguard and control pressure and for lowering brake control.
The prefill valves in nominal sizes from 100 to 400 mm in diameter are
particularly well received by our customers.

Hydraulic Valves
Due to their good flow construction prefill valves serve
for feeding and filling the main cylinders on presses.
Because their function is similar to that of check valves they can be used
for blocking up pressure loaded press cylinders without any leakage.
The Hunger prefill valve is available in two structure shapes - as container
assembly and as case valve with flange port.
