Robot controllers

Every robot has its own control centre - the robot
controllerEvery robot system has its own compact, modular robot
controller, which contains the CPU and the power electronics for controlling
the robot.
Mitsubishi Electric's robot controllers have a particularly slim, compact
design. For example, the footprint of the CR1 controller is barely as large
as a DIN A4 sheet of paper. The individual controllers differ only in their
dimensions and the power stage, the other features and functions are all
identical. This makes life much easier for the user: No matter which
Mitsubishi robot you use the programming language and options are always the
same.
Standard functions of the robot controllers:
- Easy-to-learn control instruction set
- Axis, linear and 3D circular interpolation
- Subroutines
- Execute up to 32 programs simultaneously
- Integrated math functions
- Integrated palletising functions
- Interrupt handling
- Compliance Control function
- Tracking (conveyor belt synchronisation)
- Easy integration of all camera types

The twin-arm SCARA robots of the RP series are
high-performance systems developed specially for micro-handling. When it
comes to precision, speed and compactness of these robots are virtually
unbeatable. These compact units with 4 degrees of freedom are ideal for
applications like watch, mobile phone and hearing aid assembly. The RP
product range includes three models for handling tasks with payloads from 1
to 5kg.
Placement accuracy one tenth the width of a human hair
- Repeatability ± 0.005 mm
- Cycle period per pick and place < 0.5 s
- Required footprint approx. 200 × 160 mm
- Work envelope approx. 150 × 105 mm
- Extended pick up zones for material feeding
- Multitasking operating system supports parallel processing

Mitsubishi SCARA robots are specialists for fast
palletising, sorting and component placement and assembly. They have a very
short cycle period of up to 0.5 seconds for movement sequence consisting of
a 25mm vertical lift, a 300mm horizontal traverse, a 25mm vertical lower and
return. Mitsubishi Electric offers three versions with payload handling
capacities of 6kg and 18kg and reaches of 550mm and 850mm.

Articulated Robots - RV Series (SDB)
Flexibility delivered fast
Axes: 6
Payload: 3.0 kg
Reach: 504 mm
Repeatability: ± 0.02mm The RV-2SDB uses an innovative geometry to allow
exceptional agility even in limited spaces. This means it is readily
adaptable to small work cells with few modifications required. For new
designs, the space saving capabilities mean reduced cost, both in terms of
materials and floor space.
Key to the RV-2SDB’s agility is an arm design that even allows access to the
area immediately surrounding the base, making the maximum use of the
surrounding space. This is further enhanced by a 360 degree reach, meaning
no parts of the surroundings are inaccessible. A ceiling mount capability
and compact wrist design complete the picture.
- Increased productivity
- Simple system integration
- Powerful software tools
