| The material flow
procedures in modern commissioning and distribution centres, and at the
interfaces between production and distribution, are characterised primarily by
the process steps of depalletising, sorting and palletising of complete layers
of products. In the automation of such procedures, a major challenge is that, in
many cases, many different products, containers and packages have to be handled.
FPT Robotik GmbH & Co. has now succeeded in developing a modular (de-)palletising
cell. This system, which is based on a universal and flexible vacuum gripping
system from J. Schmalz GmbH, either an industrial or a portal robot and a
carefully matched material-flow periphery, is capable of depalletising and
palletising layers of identical products (up to 300 kg per layer) from a very
large product range quickly (up to 300 layers per hour), without damage and with
excellent process reliability. It is suitable for use with standard or special
pallets of varying sizes. |

| FPT Subito - Gantry

Subito is a
modular robot system developed by FPT which is based on the 6-axis technology of
KUKA. The special characteristic of this system is its new concept which offers
outstanding performance and flexibility at the same time. This is because it
combines the advantages from three different worlds – Subito is fast as a SCARA
robot, agile as an articulated robot and equally suitable for large or small
working spaces like a gantry system.
The Subito Solo 6 robot, for example, combines 3 linear and 3 rotary axes. It
performs fast overlapping movements and offers all degrees of freedom of a
6-axis robot. This flexibility combined with a high operating speed makes it
extremely powerful: Subito achieves pick & place cycles of only one second.
But there is more to it than that. Subito can analyze motor currents and permits
force/torque controlled movements. Furthermore, it is designed in such a way
that you can use several gripper systems at the same time. If you want, you can
even use automated gripper change. This offers maximum flexibility not only for
your system, but also for your planning. Automatically. |

FPT gantry robots
have a modular design and the standard versions are provided with 3 axes. The
Subito Coro is the maximum configuration and combines the standard module with
the Subito Solo 6, i.e. it has as many as 3+6 axes.
The Subito Solo 6 robot features 3 linear and 3 rotary axes. It performs fast
overlapping movements and offers all degrees of freedom of a 6-axis robot. This
flexibility combined with a high operating speed makes it extremely powerful:
Solo 6 achieves pick & place cycles of only one second. Its design configuration
with 3+6 axes makes it possible to use several gripper systems in parallel. In
this way, the system can perform machine loading functions and peripheral tasks
at the same time and – in addition – load the loading gripper in a shake-hand
operation in addition. So that you have a grip on everything. |

configurable syntax highlighting feature improves the legibility. The
FlexManager collects your files and displays them according to groups within a
configurable folder structure. |

by simply setting the appropriate values in the database. The settings will take

The FPT servo gripper is available for special tasks: This
reliable alternative has been developed for specific requirements and difficult
pack items, e.g. for open trays. It excels by a combination of highly dynamic
servo drives, light-weight carbon components and intelligent vacuum technology.
Both gripper systems offer sophisticated technology at a high level – and one of
their prime qualities is an especially gentle treatment of the packaged goods.

extended FPT servo gripper system. It erects cartons automatically before
palletizing them. It performs the following functions in defined cycles and
without retooling in between:
• Align pre-cut carton pieces, fold them up and position them by vacuum – all in
a single sequence
• Fold and glue carton bottom tabs
• After manual or automated filling & closing: Palletize the cartons
The FPT servo gripper system PLUS needs little additional work envelope and
operates with high flexibility. It can cope with all carton formats and masters
the most different production sequences.
