Sampo
Rosenlew Ltd is an independent, medium-size industrial plant owned by Timo
Prihti. The ambitious policy pursued by the company is to diversify the
product range and improve competitiveness. Our research and development lays
special emphasis on high technology and synergy. The Company's main product
is the combine harvester, manufactured in two series: the Sampo Rosenlew
2000 series and high-capacity combines in the Sampo Rosenlew 3000 series.
The 2000 series was introduced in 1990. Cutting widths are 3.1 – 5.1
metres and threshing machine width 1.12 m. Engine options are 100 -
185 horsepower.
Sampo Rosenlew design engineers are continuously developing the 2000
series in cooperation with our customers. New features are added
annually to improve threshing capacity and usability. The biggest
modifi cations to the series were made in 2003. Based on the
experience gained during the development of the Sampo
Rosenlew 3000 series, major modifi cations were made to power
transmission, the cab, cutting table, hydraulics and engine
compartment. At the same time the appearance of the combine changed.
Cab
The philosophy of “dawn to dusk in first class” now also applies to
combines in the SR2000 series. The new SR deluxe cab is
ergonomically designed and equipped to meet the requirements set by
the most demanding farmers. The quiet cab is spacious and ideally
positioned to provide maximum visibility over the entire cutting
table.
A conventional traction lever controls the table and reel movements
as well as driving speed. A multi-function ITT lever is the most
important control device in the cab. By the lever the operator can
control almost all the threshing operations from inside the cab.
There is a wide variety of optional extras to choose from: air
conditioning is available as an option on every 2000 series model.
The SR-Deluxe deluxe cab is of the latest design. Through its arched
panorama window the operator has an unhindered view on the table.
The ergonomically designed SR deluxe cab is standard on the SR2085
TS combine and also available as an option on all the other models
except the SR2035.

Cutting table
The table comes with a wide range of fine features. Some of the
table properties of the larger SR3000 series combines are included
in the SR2000 series, such as a bottom auger with a large diameter
and strong feeding fingers. In addition, on tables 3.9 m and wider
the feed auger is equipped with side fingers, the diameter of the
middle shaft on the pick-up reel has been increased and the
adjustment mechanism of the blade angles has been modified to allow
tool-free adjustment of the angle
When threshing, the first step for a combine harvester to do is to
cut the heads. On tables 3.1 and 3.4 m wide this is done with a
high-quality crank-lever-driven cutting knife. Wider tables are
equipped with a robust and durable WB knife drive (Wobble Box). The
knife cuts evenly and precisely. A spare knife is supplied with the
combine.
The widths of the SR cutting tables range from 3.1 m to 4.8 m. Ideal
table width depends on threshing speed or the size of the area. Our

Threshing mechanism
The most important aspect of threshing is to separate grain from
heads fast and precisely. The cylinder and concave as well as the
rest of the threshing mechanism on the Sampo Rosenlew combine are
designed to do this efficiently and reliably even in the most
extreme threshing conditions on every continent.
The cylinder and concave are the most important parts of the
combine. Sampo Rosenlew has two types of cylinders in the 2000
series: a heavy-duty cylinder (HD) with eight rasp bars and a
conventional cylinder with seven rasp bars, both with a 500-mm
diameter.
The HD cylinder was originally designed for maize fields, but now
comes as standard on all models. The heavy cylinder with weight on
its outer shell produces a flywheel effect with momentary load peaks
are hardly noticeable.
The concave is of the same type on all the 2000 series combines. The
wires on the concave are thin, and stay clean even in the most
demanding conditions. The diameter of the wire hole is significantly
larger than the wire to allow continuous slight wire vibration to
improve concave capacity.
Sampo Rosenlew has designed a new type of four-step straw walkers
with detachable bottoms. This makes the cleaning extremely easy. The
separation steps are steep and the side plates are heavily geared.
The SR2035 and the SR2045 come with four straw walkers and large
models, the SR2065 and the SR2085 TS, with five straw walkers.
Unlike other models, the SR2035 is equipped with conventional
turn-over straw walkers with fixed bottoms.
Transmission
Cooling power has been increased with a new cooling air intake
system. The large cooling cells are continuously supplied with
fresh, clean air by the rotating air intake mesh.
The Sampo Rosenlew 2000 series combines are a pleasure to handle.
Every model comes with optional hydrostatic transmission, which
facilitates driving and threshing considerably. Closed final drives
transmit power to the tyres on all models. Four-wheel drive (4WD) is
a convenient option and can be retrofitted on combines with
hydrostatic transmission.
Sampo Rosenlew has designed a new eco-friendlier hydraulics system.
One oil tank and one efficient suction/return filter makes the
system secure and reliable. The new valve section in working
hydraulics enables the simultaneous use of several functions. The
new system reduces the quantity of oil and filters. The operator can
adjust the table lowering speed. The valve section has been moved
away from under the cab floor to enable easy access and service
SR3000 Series
Manufacture of the 3000 series was started in 2001. Cutting widths
are 4.2 – 6.3 metres and threshing machine width 1.34 metres. The SR
3085 L TS with a pre-cylinder was launched in 2003. Engine options
range between 175 - 276 horsepower.
As a result of our design work, the Sampo 3000 series was launched
in 2001. The first SR3045 and SR3065 models had six straw walkers
with 134 cm wide threshing mechanism. There were three engine
options: 175, 200 and 220 horsepower. Cutting table options ranged
between 4.2 and 5.7 metres. The grain tank capacity was either 5,200
or 6,500 litres. Although the combine had been designed with the
export markets in mind, it had the unrivalled strengths our other
ranges had always been renowned for: it was easy to clean and
service.
In 2003 the 3000 series was supplemented with the SR3085TS model.
Similarly to the 2000 series, the 3000 series had a large combine
with a pre-cylinder. This improved the overall efficiency of the
combine, which meant that also the cutting width and the size of the
grain tank could be increased. Maximum cutting width was now 6.3
metres and the grain tank was 8,100 litres.
Cab
The cab on the 3000 series has been designed keeping in mind the
needs of the most demanding operator. The SR-Deluxe cab represents
the latest design. Ergonomics of this spacious and comfortably quiet
cab is of high standard. Flexible and stepless adjustments of the
seat, steering wheel and multi-function ITT control lever are easy
to make to suit each operator.
There is an unhindered view through the large arched windows over
the cutting table, feeder auger and the ends and sides of the table.
The table, threshing mechanism and unloading auger can be easily
adjusted from the cab by the ITT lever.

Cutting table
The Sampo Rosenlew combines are known for their superbly functional
cutting tables. Clearance from the knife to the feeding auger is
wide enough for barley, and thanks to the wide diameter of the reel,
optimal for wheat, too. Table adjustments are easy and fast to
control from the cab. The cutting table can be detached effortlessly
and transported safely on a table trailer.
The functions of the table and the reel play a key role when
measuring threshing efficiency. With a perfectly dimensioned table
equipped with sufficient adjustments threshing is done rapidly and
without losses. The reel tine angle is adjusted mechanically. All
other reel functions are hydraulic, such as speed, height and the
fore / aft adjustment. Table width in the 3000 series can be chosen
from 4.5 up to 6.3 meters.
Threshing mechanism
High threshing power in the 3000 series is guaranteed by a heavy
threshing cylinder, a thin-wired concave and wide threshing
mechanism. The weight of the eight-bar cylinder is on its outer
shell. This gives the cylinder a strong flywheel effect; it rotates
steadily with temporary load peaks hardly noticeable.
The cylinder also maintains its stability in moist conditions as the
inner side of the bars is straight and rejects dirt.
Transmission
Hydrostatic transmission ensures that even the longest days an
harvest are a pleasure.
Changing of gear is facilitated with a hydraulic easing unit.
Driving direction and speed are selected with the multi-purpose
lever.
The source of power in the Sampo Rosenlew 3000 series a reliable and
economical AGCO SISUPOWER engine. There is a range of engines to
select from to ensure sufficient engine power.
Straw Walkers and Shaker Shoe
Six straw walkers make the Sampo Rosenlew 3000 series high-powered
combines even more powerful. The walkers form five operating walker
pairs. This gives the combine 25% higher threshing power than
five-walker combines of the same size have.
The upper and lower sieves comprise two adjustable parallel
elements. Sieves and walker bottoms are easy to draw out for
cleaning.
Grain tank
Sampo Rosenlew has several different grain tank solutions in the
3000 series. An opening grain tank cover increases the tank volume
to 7.6 m3.
The is 3045C and the 3065 can be fitted with two alternative grain
thanks different in shape and size. The 5,200 and 6,500-litre tanks
have a W-shaped bottom. The tank size can be changed with the cover.
Closed unloading
The SR3085 Superior model has closed unloading as standard. Due to
the angle gear drive, unloading can be done at any unloading pipe
turning angle.
The open system has an unloading speed of approximately 70 l/s, the
closed system nearly 100 l/s.
SR2010 Series - The plot Combine

The Sampo Rosenlew 2010 is specially designed on experimental fields
and seed breeding. With this in mind Sampo Rosenlew's engineers have
perfected every detail in SR2010 combine. To the harvesting result
it is the most important, that the grains are from only the plot
where they are supposed to be. In SR2010 this is guaranteed by a
very effective and reliable self-cleaning system.
Cutting table
SR2010 Plot Combine is equipped with highly appreciated Sampo
Rosenlew cutting table. Knife cuts even and precisely. Cleaning of
the table is assured by the CHAC system (Constant High volume Air
stream Cleaning).
Pick up reel is equipped with brushes, which provide additional
cleaning effect on the table. Vertical and horizontal adjustments of
the reel are maneuvered hydraulically and electrically from the
cabin. Table widths are available from 1,50 to 2,30 meters.
Separating power
Two chain elevator feeds crop to the threshing drum. The closed
heavy duty threshing drum has proved it's ability to result an
efficient and clean threshing even in the most demanding threshing
conditions. Large wrapping angle engenders a high separation rate
which is additionally assisted by the beater.
SR2010 plot harvester has three long and wide straw walkers ensuring
the most efficient separation. As an option the combine can be
equipped with a bouble sieve system and returns auger.
Transmission
The 2010 plot combine is equipped with the reliable hydrostatic
transmission. Speed ranges are optimally adjusted for threshing as
well as for road travel. Sampo Rosenlew uses Detroit Diesel engines
on SR2010 plot combines. A standard engine with 60 kW / 80 hp has
reserve power enough to cope with higher loads whenever these occur.
Service platform at the top of the combine has plenty of space for
service and there is a good overview over entire engine.
FOREST HARVESTERS
The Sampo Rosenlew forest harvesters are ideal for
forest thinning. They do not harm thinning forests as sturdier forest
machinery does. Our forest harvester range has two models: the SR 1046 X
which is developed to thin young forests, and the heavier and more powerful
SR 1066. The design and manufacture of the Sampo Rosenlew forest harvester
is customized to meet the individual needs of our customers. The Company has
invested heavily in its manufacture and assembly
processes to fulfill the ever growing market demand and increasing quality
requirements.
SR1046 Series - Small and efficient
The Sampo Rosenlew 1046 forest harvester has been in production
since 1996. The harvester has been continuously developed and it is
now environmentally friendlier as well as more ergonomic and
efficient than ever.
The weight and dimensions of the SR1046 have changed only little
along the years. Thinning specialists at Sampo Rosenlew understand
that a harvester intended for first thinning in young forests must
be of this size.
Window area is large offering an excellent view to the operator over
the treetops and around the machine. The cab is spacious, ergonomic
and comfortable. There is enough space for the tallest operator to
operate comfortably and room for all the necessary personal items.
According to the research, the SR1046 performs first thinning at a
considerably lower cost than heavier machinery.
This is based on two factors:
1. Both capital- and running costs are clearly lower
2. Efficiency when handling thinner trees is higher than with
heavier machinery.
SR1066 Series - Efficiency in later thinning
The harvester model SR1066 was launched in 2003. It is designed
especially for later thinning. The weight and dimensions of the
SR1066 are designed to handle heavier trunks easily and efficiently.
This machine also performs outstandingly in final cutting.
The SR1066 harvester can be equipped with the latest PC based
controlling and measuring technology as well as with the GPS and
data transfer systems. The cab on the Sampo Rosenlew forest
harvester is spacious and comfortable. It is located on the front
frame. The curved windscreen and the high cab provide the operator
with an unhindered view over the trees and round the machine. The
controls are ergonomically within easy reach.
The Sampo Rosenlew harvesters are equipped with SisuDiesel engines.
A six-cylinder turbo diesel generates 129 kW of power. The engine
supplies power to hydraulic pumps, which transmit power to high
torque hydraulic motors.

Multi Stage

BRC
Sampo Rosenlew's powerful Basket Rotation Cleaners (BRC)
are designed to handle components requiring a high-quality cleaning result.
The components may have a high level of contamination, which can only be
cleaned by using the basket rotation technique. Objects that are difficult
to clean in a traditional rotating spray system cleaner are cleaned in a BRC
cleaner.
Latest technology
The BRC cleaners are designed to cleanin components placed in a basket. The
wash in done by rotating the basket in a bath with hot alkaline cleaning
fluid. There is continuous high-pressure injection of cleaning fluid into
the bath. This process results in strong cavitation, which is a highly
efficient method to clean component corners and holes.
The BRC cleaners are equipped with a rotating fixture that can be
oscillated. It is possible to perform 1-4 stages in the same chamber, e.g.
wash, rinse, passivation and drying. The re-circulating cleaning liquids are
pumped with separate pumps from each tank and continuously filtrated through
the filtration units.

Tunnel type cleaners
The Sampo Rosenlew tunnel cleaners of modular design are
suitable for high-capacity wash applications. The tunnel type machines come
are available in four different widths with spraying zones can be chosen in
three standard lengths. Many different zones for drying or fresh water
rinsing are available.
Large quantities of components
The Tunnel type cleaners are designed to clean components in large
quantities. Parts are fed through the cleaning machine on chain or net
conveyors. In the wash the parts are sprayed from above, below and the sides
in the cleaning and rinsing zones. Stationary spray pipes and nozzles spray
hot alkaline cleaning fluid on the parts.
In every zone there are multiple spray ramps. Depending on the needed
capacity conveyor speed and length of the spraying zones are selected to

Machine designs are often based on standard machines. There can be a frame
